Tamara Casey is Chief Technology Officer for Ligado Networks and is responsible for network design, deployment, and operations. She leads the company’s technology development efforts to enable optimized capabilities producing customized private networks.
Prior to joining Ligado, Tamara was a senior telecom, media, and technology advisor at Nexius Insight where her clients included Cisco and several large private equity firms. Previously, she co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of 4DK Technologies, a technology solutions firm acquired by Radius Networks in 2014. During her tenure at 4DK, Tamara and her team were granted six patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
From 2001 to 2005, as Vice President of Technology, Strategy, Research, and Architecture for Nextel Communications, Tamara and her team developed 3G push-to-talk technology and significantly contributed to technology concepts that later became 4G LTE. During much of the previous decade, she served as Nextel’s Northeast Regional Vice President of Engineering and Operation.
In addition to completing the Strategic Business Leadership program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Tamara studied media communications at Laney College.
